The
simulation calculates the required sterilisation time (min) to reach a
given sterility criterion at different temperature. The calculations
are based on the two common concepts: 1st order death rate (k) and its
teperature dependance decribed by the activation energy, and the
concept of decimal reduction time (D) and its temeprature dependance
described by the Zvalue. Tempertures in the range of 140 C are used in
continuous sterilisation, while temperature of 121 C is used in
autoclaving.
The same theory and models can be used also for pasteurisation (T 6090 C).
